"Essence of Christmas"

Christmas has been trivialized into Santa Claus, his reindeer's, Christmas lights and trees, and lots of toys and goodies to bring cheer to humankind on this festive holiday season.
I have always thought of Christmas time as a good time, a kind, forgiving, charitable, loving, sharing.  Christmas is the season for gifts and shopping.  Every Christmas, many people go to malls to buy different gifts to be given to their friends and love ones.
At 16th to 24th of December, we Filipinos traditionally go to church at early dawn, some or most are walking going to the church to attend the mass at four in the morning, it is called "Misa de Gallio."  For kinds, Christmas is so fun, they go for caroling, and the money that they've collected, the carolers have equal shares.  Every Christmas, the families and their relatives are gathered together to celebrate the Christmas; full of happiness, care, giving or exchanging of gifts, and full of LOVE.
Christmas is spoken of as "the season of joy" and "a time of cheer." So, be good, be kind, be humane, and charitable; LOVE your fellows; console the afflicted; pardon those have done you wrong.
This Christmas season, take time for LOVE.!
   MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!

"Equal rights, Equal Opportunities"

"There is not male or female; for you are all one in Jesus Christ" - Gal 3:28
The discrimination towards girls and women is one of the most pervasive human rights violations.  As the saying goes "behind every mans success is a woman."
Women must not be treated as a mere passive participants in the world.  They should enjoy also fundamental rights and freedom that a man have.  Women can rule a place, take a part in the administrative work, as the man does.  They also possess a full equality and dignity, and they have a very significant role to play in the different occasions and affairs.  Women have a very important role that cannot be replace in the society, yet their part is not acknowledged and they are not given equal rights and opportunities.
And men should be more involved in promoting the rights of women.  'Cause there is nothing wrong in doing so.  The advancement would not go far if women and girls are not enjoying the same rights and opportunities as the men and boys do.

"Responding To Climate Change"

Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods, ranging from decades to million of years.  It may be distribution of events around that average.  Climate change may be limited to a specific region or may occur across the whole earth.
Some of the causes and effects of the climate change are deforestation which is due to cutting or clearing of the trees in the forest.  And greenhouse effect, caused by a range of different gasses in the Earth's atmosphere.  The rising of the coastal water is also one of the effect of the climate change.  As we go on in our lives, our planet is at risk, but we can still save the Earth.  And the first and the best thing that an individual could do is to clean his own surrounding and discipline his self.
We should care about our planet.  Be sensitive enough to know whats happening in our world.!

Reflection

Another grading period is over.  Another lessons, knowledge were gained.  And another moments, memories are stored in our hearts and mind.
This second grading, we had a lot of happy moments.  I have learned the HTML tags and the uses of each tags in a word.  I enjoyed applying those tags in our exercises or hands on, and also posting.  And most of the time, we are having a hands on activity and posting, not like last grading, we are more in discussions.
But sometimes, when we are going to post, we are having trouble in connecting to the internet.  At first, I am not sure what I am doing but I did my best to do the exercises.  Now, I am more accustomed in using the HTML tags.  And, we can also manage now to do the exercises simply just by following the given instructions.
As we laugh during classes, we are also learning.  I am hoping that this coming third grading, because I am more interested in doing hands on, blogging or posting and surfing the internet.  And I also expect more interesting lessons to come.

Promoting Digital Literacy Through English Proficiency

Digital Literacy is a survival skill nowadays in digital era.  It motivates students to be digitally literate.
Most of the people now have technologies on their hands and fingertips, not only to communicate to other people but also to create, design and manipulate things.  Digital Technology also helps the people in their daily lives such as access in educational opportunities, health and medical services, in banking, etc.  In promoting digital literacy, it enhance the necessary abilities and skill of people to manage their own knowledge in the society.  It shows how today's teenage fad may become tomorrow a scientific method.
In promoting digital literacy, it would be a great help in learning. It reshapes the educational culture in digital media.

"CHEMERGY: Chemistry and Science Club in Synergy"

Chemistry is developing a process to economically recover hydrogen from these wastes and incorporate it into high value applications including chemical manufacturing and possibly vehicle transportation.
CHEMERGY is the combination of chemistry and energy.  Now,  we are already living in easy way, technological, and modernized.  But, we still need to do more things so that things will be better.  It is true that technology can be used for good, but with a new development comes new challenges.  SYNERGY is the interaction and cooperation of two or more organizations, substance.  It produces an effect, greater than the individual effects.
That is why, we people need cooperation, teamwork so that our world will grow better. We should be responsible enough to do such things.

The Teachers, The Heroes!

Teachers are the one who teach us in school, they are the one guiding us and imparting knowledge to students.
Teachers inspired me because, they are sacrificing for us, students, for our own good, just like our parents does.  They are always there, willing to help us discover things, explore and to add more our knowledge on different things around us.  And also, they are always there, willing to listen to our some kind of problems that we, students cannot tell to our parents, and they give advises too.  Teachers love the students, and they treat the students as their own children. They cheer us up when we are down.  And even if sometimes, they get angry to us, they still love us.  We still love them and respect them, because they are our second parents.
That is how the teachers love us, they have a lot of sacrifices.  We thank you for sharing your knowledge to us, for everything.  THE TEACHERS ARE MY HEROES!

My Modern Day Hero

All of us have a hero that we may call. Some of them maybe are our parents, our friends, our teachers and the Almighty God.
For me, my heroes are my parents and the teachers. My parents because they are always there to guide me, to correct me if I’m wrong and teach me the proper attitude. They are always there, supporting and loving us, and they are there doing their very best to give or to provide our needs. They sacrifice a lot for us. I also consider the teachers as my hero because they are the one teaching us in school, they are our second parents. They are sacrificing their selves for us students, even if we are not their relatives. And even if their salary is not that big or not that much, they are contented and satisfied as long as the students are learning.
I look up to them because they inspire me a lot. They are a good model, not only for me, but for other young people also. And someday, I want to be like them.

Make a Move, P'noy (SONA)

The State of the Nation Address (SONA) happens every last monday of July every year. And this is the time when the leaderest are together.
And so, last July 25, 2011, the SONA of President Benigno Aquino III was held. He expressed his gratitude, and he stated in his SONA his accomplishments, the problems of our country and blamed Arroyo for all of these problems. Yes, we may say that he is a different one, because he delivered his SONA without any reference. But still he needs to do his duty very well, he is not excempted. And instead of blaming Arroyo for all of the problems, he should look for the best solution to resolve it. And I think he always compare the past administration to the present administration.
President Aquino, stop blaming the past administration, instead make a move, do your best to make our lives and our country better, and make us proud. Maybe, you should lessen the talks and more on deeds. Don't let us down, Sir.

Breastfeeding is Important

Breastmilk is the most important food for the baby, because it is the most easily digested food for them. And it is exclusively for the first six months.
Breastfeeding have two aspects- the nutritional aspect which is important and yet some mothers think that it can be substituted by the commercial milk, food for the baby and the psychological aspect which the bonding of the mother and the baby will be closer. It is important in the childcare. Breastmilk helps to protect babies from illnesses. But we know that some mothers do not like to breastfeed their babies because they want to maintain their figures, so they just let their babies to take those commercial milk. BUT mothers who do not breastfeed their babies are at risk of having an breast and ovarian cancer. And babies that do not take breastmilk are at higher risk for gastrointestinal infections, ear and respiratory infections, childhood cancer like leukemia, diabetes and obesity.
This is how important breastfeeding is. So, to be able to avoid these diseases, mothers should breastfeed their babies. And I guess, mothers do not like that their children will be at risk.
