Kannawidan Ylocos Festival

     The Kannawidan Festival is celebrated annually, from 31st day of January to 6th day of February.  This week-long festival which celebrates the 194th anniversary this year based on the Royal Decree dated February 2, 1818, separating Ilocos Sur to Ilocos Norte.
     The Kannawidan Ylocos Festival aims to create awareness on the preservation of the province rich cultural heritage, practices and traditions, and a showcase of the different agriculture and industry products of the province.  It aims to harness Ilocos Sur's rich historical values and products in order to attract foreign and local tourist and investors as well.  The Kannawidan fest will follow immediately after the 10-day Vigan Longganisa Festtival.
     And as the early Ylocano tradition goes, the festival starts with a mass followed by a procession of the patron saints entire the City of Vigan.  There are so many activities during this fest.
    It was fun-filled week of celebration of the Kannawidan festival in Ilocos Sur.
